I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Informatics of the University of Macedonia. I received a BSc degree in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MSc degree in Knowledge Based Systems from the University of Edinburgh and a PhD degree on Distributed Constraint Logic Programming from the department of Computer Science, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
My research interests include Constraint Logic Programming, Modelling using Constraints, Multi-Agent Systems (BDI and goal directed Languages and Agent Based Simulation with an emphasis on integrating the former to the latter) and more recently AI approaches to 5G networks and in particular cloud/network slicing. In the past I have been involved in projects concerning distributed expert systems, distributed constraint logic programming and AI applications. More recently, I participated in the NECOS H2020 (Novel Enablers for Cloud Slicing) and UNIC (Unikernel-based CDNs for 5G Networks, FED4FIRE+ Open Call 4, Η2020) projects, where I was involved in the design and implementation of novel mechanisms and architectures for 5G cloud slicing and distributed infrastructure resource discovery.
I was also a co-author of a book on Parallel and Constraint Logic Programming and two Greek textbooks on AI and Constraint Logic Programming.
